Assessment Packages
Both our assessment packages follow the same process outlined below. The comprehensive package provides an in-depth report at outcome and the standard package provides a summary letter.
For children (16+), the assessment process includes a school consultation, where their education setting will be provided with a written information to share their observations.
We work with external services to provide autism assessments for children 16 and under on the Mornington Peninsula. Contact us for more information.
What to expect
Discovery call
This is all about finding out if the service is the right fit for you and whether an autism assessment is appropriate.
We will ask you questions about your experiences, why you are seeking assessment. During the appointment, we will share information with you about the process, what to expect and the values of the service.
Questionnaires & written forms
Before we complete your assessment, we ask you to fill in some questionnaires. This gives you chance to write about your experiences before the assessment starts, especially if you find sharing your experiences in spoken form challenging.
Developmental history session
This session can take place with you and/or your caregivers, whichever makes you feel more comfortable. The session explores your early life experiences and traits observed in your early years.
Collaborative discussion session
This session is a collaborative experience where we will discuss your experiences. No tests, nothing to trip you up. We will discuss your communication preferences and style, experiences of relationships, sensory experiences, need for routine and sameness, and mental and physical health.
Multi-disciplinary team meeting
After we have collected all the information we need from you, your clinicians will meet to decide on outcome and discuss recommendations and potential next steps to support you.
Reflection session
During the final session, we will talk about the main findings from the assessment, the outcome and next steps or further support. You will have chance to ask any questions you need to and discuss whatever feels important for you.
